Operation 30 : Five Years
This Operation is adapted from a blog post on my regular blog from this morning.
Quite a fun question...Where will you be five years from today?
This Operation is adapted from a blog post on my regular blog from this morning.
Quite a fun question...Where will you be five years from today?
It is Tuesday morning.
For the first time I feel like I NEED coffee or I will never make it out the door. I hit sleep on my alarm about 14 times this morning.
I would love to just stay home where it is quiet.
Tell me what quiet is for you.
Do you love it? Do you hate it? Is it when you can have some downtime?
Share.
WINNER of the custom stationery set is Jennifer - the number five poster:

Thank you again crew, for playing along so far. Thanks for bearing with me and my slow posting as well.
This weeks challenge is pretty open to your interpretation.
It is ART.
Take a run at it. Can't wait to see what you do.
Today is July One. We started this weekly challenge 6 months ago.
It is difficult to do one extra thing each week. At least for me. I am falling off the wagon on my actual pages, but I am glad I am still writing the challenges so EVENTUALLY I can catch up.
I wanted to put a little prize out there for this challenge - winner will get a set of 10 personalized letterpressed cards similar to the ones shown in my etsy shop. You pick the ink, paper and text and I will print them up just for you.
AND FOR THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE : What has been GOOD for you so far in 2008? What are you doing? What is making you happy? What is GOOD?
Make a page for your adventure album. Make a layout. Write a blog entry. Write a letter. DOCUMENT. And then link us up here on this post and next TUESDAY I will pick a random winner.
Thank you for playing along and joining me on the Paper Adventure. So far so good, yes?
Happy July!
Ahhhhh maaaaaaaaaaaan.
Tuesday.
Tuesday.
AKA, my seventh day of work in my nine day stint.
Paul is finally back from camping and these next few days are all about finishing work and enjoying being back together. At home. Finally.
So tell me...what is home to you?
One of my favorite parts of Hawaii this past week, was seeing the dolphins swimming along our boat. The boat driver said they loved to play in the currant created by the boat moving through the water. It was their version of surfing he said. As I watched the dolphins jumping and swimming and rolling along - often in unison with each other - I thought that animal trainers at Sea World must have a pretty easy job. These dolphins already love to play.
This week - think about how you incorporate PLAY into your day.
What do you do simply for fun? What do you enjoy doing? What makes you laugh?
I am completely inspired by those dolphins. I need to bring that PLAY out of Hawaii and into my work week.
Sorry! Sorry! I am on island time and a day behind on challenges. I am sorry for the delay.
Only one word could inspire this week's challenge, and that word is WATER.
As in the stuff you drink, the stuff you swim in, the stuff that makes up 90% of your body. I think we all may have a thought or two on the subject.
Thanks for waiting - enjoy the challenge!
Eek... Sorry for the late post. Would you believe I got to work this morning before remembering that today is Tuesday?
Trust is what it is all about this week.
Would do you trust? What do you trust? Who trusts you? Why? Why not?
Go deep. Stick to the surface. Just write.
I plan to get some photos of my book so far up tonight. Thank you for playing along!
Describe yourself in three words.
I think this is a standard interview / dating site question.
I used to wonder, how can I possibly do that? I can barely describe cereal in three words. THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH THERE.
But I like the idea. The idea that it is important to simplify and see what YOU find to be important traits.
This week: Tell yourself about yourself in just three words.
My take on this is a bit of a joke. It is something I said a while ago that I want to remember.
I hope you have a good time with this one.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
DETAILS.
I am in love with details. The little things that make big things extra special. Like pretty packaging. And putting takeout food onto plate before eating it.
I have been thinking a lot lately about details. The good ones that add to my life.
What is extra special to you these days? What are the little details you are enjoying? Or would like to enjoy?
Here is my layout for the week. I cut the flap off an A7 envelope and slipped my journaling inside. I lined the envelope with a small strip of patterned paper so when the journaling was outside, there was still something to see. Details.
Big plans on my day off today. Like finishing all my pages from the past couple weeks.
Go, team. Go.
Getting a little bit deep today. Maybe. Maybe not. I thought this operation up about four minutes ago in the shower. And I think it might be my favorite. Very inspired by Marta and her mini diaries.
Today, Tomorrow, this week: think about your five senses.
What do you see?
Hear?
Taste?
Smell?
Touch?
What is good (or not so good) around you?
Absorb it and then write about it.
And have the happiest of Tuesdays.
Hello, New.
Remember when we did Something Old? I figured this week would be a good time to celebrate something new.
Those of you who read my regular blog, may have seen this coming. The past few weeks I have been in love with my new hobby of letterpressing. I took a workshop for the past three weeks and learned how to work ancient presses to make art. Very cool. Very new to me.
Tell me, what is something new in your life?
You may have actually bought something new. Or maybe you rediscovered something and it feels new to you again. Maybe you made something new that you are enjoying. Think about it. Write about it.
I just wanted to leave a sidenote - if you haven't noticed a comment from me on your pages, it is not because I haven't been checking your links! I love seeing how you are taking these challenges and going with them. Such cool stuff.
And I agree with Mary, feeling good about 16 entries. My little book is growing. Be sure to check out the flickr group for more images.
Grrrrreetings.
It seems to me that right now there is a lot to be inspired by. Fantastic blogs, new books, flickr photos, music, sketches, the new season and on and on and on. Yesterday, on my regular blog, I did a post about where I am currently getting a lot of inspiration. Very little of that inspiration is translating to my scrapbooking hobby - but it is keeping me thinking. And keeping me MAKING.
And I suppose that is the point.
Tell me, what is inspiring you this week?
Where do you draw your inspiration? What helps you get in the mood to make or do something? What do you see, or hear, or taste, or touch, or smell that makes you think?
I finally got a page together ON TIME for this one. The front of it at least. I am going to take a few photos this week and crop them for the back side of the page.
This layout also fits in with the new Scrapjacked challenge that will be up by the end of the day.
Have a great week.
I cannot believe we have made it THIS FAR without a food related page. Because what is the ONE THING we have all been doing every single day for the last 98 days?
Eating.
Food is fuel, yes, but it is also entertainment. And interesting. It can be very complex or very simple. It is a part of every single day.
So, tell me: What is for dinner tonight?
Paul and I are having chicken. My specialty. The one recipe I brought into our relationship. He is for sure the chef in the house, but I am watching and learning and taking photos of almost everything we eat.
Happy April!
I thought a lot about doing some sort of April Fool's Joke on the blog here before I realized that A) nothing I could think of was very funny and B) jokes rarely translate over the internet/different countries. So instead, we can just celebrate April...a new month and a new season full of exiting things.
Think, this week, about something that you are looking forward to in April.
Something specific...like a birthday party. Or a vacation. Or a dentist appointment. Something you have on your calendar coming up. If you look at your calendar and realize there is nothing up ahead you are looking forward to, then please...CREATE SOMETHING you are excited about. Call up a friend...sign up for a workshop...schedule something you cannot wait to do.
I made my page on Friday, the day before I started my letterpress classes...very simple page...but the class was amazing. Thanks for linking your pages! They all look great...so much to enjoy in April.
Fantastic. Go April.
New season. New start. New buds. New butterflies (I think the photo is of a cocoon.) New energy. New.
Hooray for Spring.
(At least that is my opinion.)
What are your thoughts about this new season? Share 'em.
aaaand, my layout for the week, made with the lovely April Cupcake Scrapshop kit:
(Sorry for the late posting, friends, I am on PST this Tuesday!)
(And also, thank you, thank you for playing along. I love that our books are slowing getting bigger and better.)
So, LUCK is our theme this week. The reason behind the topic is two fold:
1. I went to Las Vegas over the weekend and lacked in the Luck department. I like to gamble because I like to win money and because I always feel lucky. The casinos like me for the same reason.
2. Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. The luckiest, greenest day of the year.
Tell me, what does LUCK mean to you?
Are you unlucky? Do you have a lucky charm? Do you make your own luck? Do you play the lottery? HAVE YOU WON THE LOTTERY?
Think about it, jot it down, make it work.
Meanwhile, I will try to get my page made FROM LAST WEEK, and THIS WEEK. I am behind, behind. But HEY! There is always tomorrow.
Annnnnd finally:
I am a creature of habit. The above picture was taken in last August, but today, and everyday since the photo was taken, my morning has looked the same.
Cereal. Milk. Banana (chopped the exact same way). Coffee. Email. Bloglines. Flickr.
It is all habit. And it is all part of what I need to do to have a good morning and start my day.
Tell me: What habits to you have? What routines to you follow?
Are this habits ones you would like to break, or are they a part of you that you enjoy? Take some time and write it out.
Happy Tuesday!
