So I am sitting in Michelle and Melanie's Room, watching Mr. Deeds. And I am trying to do marketing flashcards while J types out something on her MacBook. And in comes Katie Bowman. And she talks in a Southern accent about how she wants so badly to do Teach for America.
And J and Katie go back and forth, getting each other excited about Teaching for America. About how they are so ready to do it. About how they could just talk for days about all the reasons why. About how in J's interview she just laid it all out there for the interviewer and got the job.
And so I am sitting here. Feeding off their excitement. And I realize, "Dude, you need that passion."
None of these jobs I interviewed for excite me like that. I could not talk for days about why I want any of these jobs.
So as scary as it is to wait it out, as hard as it is to sit on my expensive education, I am going to. Because apparently, it is not until you can talk for days that you get the job.
And Jenny, you will make a fabulous teacher. Teach for America is so blessed.
