For serious. This was my fortune at PF Changs with the fam last night. I about fell out of my chair - but that may have been because my balance was off thanks to the giant piece of chocolate cake we had just consumed.
Afterwards I rushed home to where my bags were already packed, said goodbye to the friends and laughed really hard with the fam.
And then I woke up, flew for seven hours and KA-BAM! became a Maryland resident. Paul and I signed the 30 pieces of paper that you have to sign in order to be a renter of an apartment. It was sort of intense. I told Paul I felt like a grown-up and then immediately worried that someone from the complex heard me and would take it all back because for heaven's sake: I AM NOT A GROWN-UP.
But we got keys anyway. And we went and we looked at our new abode. And it is so fabulous. It needs a little paint and a lot of our stuff, but it is ours. I am so excited to get in there and start taking photos / cooking dinner / stop tripping over boxes. But all in good time.
Also visited The Container Store. I think we both realized that we should have just rented a corner of that place instead of worrying about living in an apartment. We bought nothing but came up with ideas. I feel like we are going to be in the idea phase for a little while. I think we both like brown though. Maybe.
So far, so good. I can hear you, Mom and Dad, breathing a sigh of relief.
