Fall is this chair and wall in the Georgetown Starbucks. Where I sit and read almost every day before work starts. Where I often fall asleep. Where I am warm and cozy and alone for an hour or so.
Fall is football games. And learning what it is like to cheer on a school that you no longer are at the center of but still feel so strongly connected to.
Fall is new clothes. Like boots and jackets. It is opening up boxes and hanging up sweaters. It is remembering that you actually like winter clothes more than summer clothes but knowing that in six months you will feel the opposite.
Fall is a busy schedule and a busy store. It is slowly rebuilding my bank account. It is making time for making stuff. It is continuing to settle in to this new life on the East Coast.
Fall is feeling comfort. It is finding warmth. It is full of promise.
I am very much looking forward to this new season.
