P: So recently, in class, I have been thinking about what we would do if we won the lottery.
E: Oh yeah? What would we do?
P: That's the thing, it depends on how much money we win. Because sometimes you get screwed and you only get a million.
E: Okay. So let's say $3 million. Because that is good, but not a ton.
P: Seriously? You don't think $30 million is a ton?
E: No, I said $3 million. Because you probably still have to work if you win $3 million.
P: Oh. Okay.
E: See, I don't know how that would change my life. Because I still will want to write a book. And having a lot of money won't help me write a book.
P: Well, you could just make it yourself. You wouldn't need a company to pick it up.
E: Yeah!
P: Oh, well, I guess you would need help with distribution. You can't just call up Barnes and Noble and tell them you are going to ship them some.
E: No. But I could just walk in with a bunch under my shirt and just set them up on a little table.
P: Yeah...
E: So what would you do? Would you still be in school?
P: (Groans.) I don't know. Because you can't win the lottery and be in the military. I have no idea what would happen.
E: Well, I guess it is a good thing we don't buy lottery tickets. We are clearly not prepared to win.
