Every since I found this gorgeous photo (and tutorial!) via Pinterest, I knew I'd be using "ribbon" to make a dreamcatcher. The other day, I found a gold hoop at Jo-anns and decided to make it happen.
I took three differnent types of ribbon (all from Paper Source) and just wrapped them around the hoop - taking care to weave them through each other as I went. I secured the thick patterned ribbon with staples and used fabric glue on the thinner ones until I realized I could just tie them off into the tails.
To the bottom, I secured seven strands of ribbon and and strung them with glass beads from an old necklace that sadly had broken. Because I had most of the stuff on hand, this was my cheapest project yet - just $2 for that gold hoop. It's currently hanging on fishing wire from our fan (low enough not to burn in the lights or get tangled when the fan is on.)
I cannot say for sure if it's caught any dreams as of yet, but it makes me smile to see it hanging there. And fun news! I'll be sharing our COMPLETELY DECORATED bedroom on the blog tomorrow.
This is project 10 of 27. I am attempting to complete 27 craft projects using 27 different materials before I turn 28 on 02.22.13. You can follow my progress here on the blog or on pinterest. Birthday challenges are my favorite. You can see the 26 Projects I completed while 26 here and the 27 materials I have used so far here.
