I enjoyed creating simple birth announcements for Ellerie to mail to our family and friends.
I designed them in PSE with some of our favorite photos from that first week and uploaded them as 5x7 postcards to overnightprints.com. I have used this site for our Christmas cards the past two years so I knew the quality for photo printing was good. I appreciate that they are relatively cheap and quick and love that I can include photos on both sides. The fonts used are Ostrich Sans Rounded and Odstemplik.
After they arrived, the typo (that extra "I" in Thanksgiving) was called to my attention on Instagram. In Classic Elise fashion, I totally would have missed it and, of course, I mailed them out anyway. All the actual details were accurate and her name was spelled correctly so as far at birth announcements go, I figured we were in the clear.
I used the backside to provide a bit more of the story. Our situation was a bit different than most because Paul was deployed for the end of my pregnancy and whether or not he'd make it home was question mark for awhile there. We were so fortunate that he did and even more blessed that he was able to come home for good just a few weeks later.
I stuck them in A7 papaya envelopes from Paper Source and fancied them up with heart and girl stamps plus (obviously) a bit of washi tape from Freckled Fawn. Simple & cute, but most importantly, out the door. ;)
