As mentioned at the end of 2013, I am no longer completing my Project Life album on a weekly basis. I did that for two years. I enjoyed the process and I love my albums. This year I am taking a much more relaxed approach and playing more with this project. I don't have much of a plan other than to complete at least one (and sometimes many more) spread a month.
The big win is that I can never be "behind" on this album. I also like that I don't have to worry about having seven horizontal 4x6 photos each week and can group photos by subject instead of date. I love that I will be under no "weekly deadlines" and will be blogging just once a month about my album.
February was packed for us. Lots of work! Lots of progress! A quick trip up to Sacramento to visit our families and for Ellerie's baptism.
I started this month with almost a "title" page. I used a bunch of pink, yellow and red cards and embellishments from the SC March Office Hours Project Life kit.
I ended the January spreads with a diagonal pocket page and so I had to use the backside this month. That photo of Paul and Ellerie is one of my favorites. I cropped it to 12x6 and then printed it at home as three separate 4x6 photos. I just had to cut them in half and round the corners to make it fit in the horizontal pockets.
The next layout is pretty photo and journaling heavy (again... all vertical iPhone photos because that's just how I'm documenting these days).
I played with the Office Hours kit again here and used a checkerboard (alternating photo and journaling cards). I love those cork stickers and I just stuck them to the outside of the pockets on both sides.
Again, this month, I went with a "best of" spread. This is just the easiest way to "share all the things" on a monthly basis, I think.
It's shocking to me how fast these months go and how much we get in.
The next spread is "Valentine's Day" and includes a story about Ellerie (that's intentionally blurred here). I didn't have a ton of photos to go with it so I used some pink and red cards from various places.
I had E "paint" a picture for Paul on Valentine's Day and that I just tucked right into an 8.5x11 pocket page and paper clipped a valentine to it.
I used a WeRMemory Keepers nine pocket page to hold some of my film photos taken this month. That "captured" embellishment is from the Office Hours kit.
Always love the square pockets.
On the backside I stuck 9 photos from our trip to Sacramento and opposite that is our "photo of the three of us" (remember I have a goal to get one a month) from February (this is a mock-up, I still have to get that 12x12 printed).
Super fun and random photos. This is what happens when you only carry your iPhone...
And that's February! Simple is becoming the name of the game for me. Thank you so much for following along. See my title page for this album here and 2014 album progress here.
