No doubt you've heard of the Moscow Mule. It was (is?) nutty popular with bloggers and best served with quinoa, kale and a sprinkled donut. (Not really.)
Last summer it was blowing up my Instagram feed and I figured I might as well hop on board so we looked up a recipe (here's a good one!) and made them for ourselves. So good!
Then this spring I finally bought copper mugs (the official Moscow Mule vessel) and was blown away with how they did indeed improve the drink (we think it has to do with how they transfer cold?) and were worth every penny.
One of our favorite local restaurants serves a Mexican Mule which is the same idea with tequila instead of vodka. Paul set out to up the game one step further and created....
The San Diego Mule!
serves one
1 shot tequila
1 and 1/2 shots ginger beer (it's non-alcoholic)
1 shot of your favorite IPA (India Pale Ale beer)
about 1/3 shot fresh orange juice
about 1/3 shot fresh lime juice
What makes it the San Diego Mule? Aside from being "made up" in San Diego, it has an orange AND a spash of (ideally San Diego brewed) IPA (we love Stone!).
Let me know if you try it!
